Trash Collection Guidelines
*New Rates effective January 1, 2010
Anderson Mill Limited District (AMLD )contracts with Allied Waste Service (formerly BFI) for solid waste collection. New service is set up directly with Allied Waste Service please call (512) 247-5647.
You must have your carts placed on the street surface and backed up to the curb by 7:30 A.M. The drivers note the addresses that do not have their carts out when they go down the street, and will NOT go back if you have forgotten.
Allied Waste (formerly BFI) requires that customers place NO additional trash bags in addition to their (1 cubic yard) cart at the curb each collection day.
- Bulky Waste - Collection of 3 cubic yards on the 1st Wednesday of the month. Bulky waste includes such items as stoves, hot water tanks, washing machines, furniture and other large waste items. No need to call Allied Waste to arrange for bulky item collection, simply place the item out on the curb by 6 A.M. on the first Wednesday of the month. Refrigerators, freezers, and air conditioners must have certification by a licensed technician of CFC (refrigerant) recovery. Please call AWS for more information (512) 247-5647
- .CONSTRUCTION AND DEMOLITION DEBRIS WILL NOT BE COLLECTED WITH REGULAR TRASH OR ON BULKY ITEM DAYS. IF YOU HAVE CONSTRUCTION OR DEMOLITION DEBRIS CALL (512) 247-5647 TO ARRANGE FOR A SPECIAL CONTAINER. THERE WILL BE A CHARGE FOR CONSTRUCTION AND DEMOLITION DEBRIS REMOVAL
- Recycling Program - the recycling program includes newspaper, magazines, telephone books, junk mail, office paper, school paper, paper bags, corrugated cardboard (not to exceed 3'x3'x6" in dimension), aluminum cans, steel cans and any plastic beverage or laundry product bottle or jug with a 31 or #2 on the bottom. For safety and environmental reasons the recycling program does NOT include glass.
Allied Waste Services can not collect tires, flammable liquids, wet paint, used oil, batteries, hazardous wastes, or any appliance that contains Freon or coolants.
Holiday Trash Collection Service: If a holiday falls on a normal pick up day, pickups for that day and for each other day that week will slide to the next day during the week of the holiday. For example, if a holiday falls on Wednesday, then Wednesday's customers are serviced on Thursday; Thursday's customers are serviced on Friday and Friday's customers are serviced on Saturday. This applies to the following holidays:
- RECYCLING NOTES: Glass is no longer recycled in any color. There are no available users of recycled glass and it has become hazardous for the workers to handle. Place all glass in the normal trash container.
Paper: If it is raining on your pickup day, DO NOT put out paper in the recycling bin. They will not pickup WET paper. Save it for a clear day or put it in the regular trash.

NOTE: On the collection days following a Holiday (listed above), extra trash equal in volume to the size of the Trash cart (1 cubic yard), which is bundled, boxed, or bagged will be collected as part of that weekly service.
Trash Items NOT collected by Allied Waste: Construction Debris, Dead Animals, Insecticides/Pesticides, Paint Cans, Lead Batteries, Tires, Used Motor Oil, Non-Certified Refrigerators, Freezers, or Air Conditioners.
